Nationality
A candidate must be either:
- a citizen of India, or
- a citizen of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
- Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Education Qualification
- The RRB Group D Recruitment Exam is open to candidates who have completed their 10th grade, earned an ITI or its equivalent, or received an NCVT-issued National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).
- Unless otherwise noted, a diploma or degree in engineering will not be accepted in place of course-completed Act Apprentices or ITI for the Level-1 position.
- Applications are not accepted from those who are awaiting the results of their final exam for the required minimum level of education or technical proficiency.
- Applicants who have finished the Complete Act Apprenticeship programme in any trade.
Age Limit (as on 01/01/2025)
Candidates may apply for the Railway RRB Group D test if they are between the ages of 18 and 36 on January 1, 2025. According to the rules, age relaxation is offered.

Medical Standards
The Railway Administration’s medical fitness test or tests must be passed by candidates who are invited for Document Verification (DV). This guarantees that they are medically capable of carrying out the responsibilities necessary for the position or positions they have chosen.
