Get up early on the day of Sakat Chauth. Wear clean clothes after bathing. Clean the temple of the house. Worship all the gods and goddesses along with Ganeshji and perform their aarti. After this, keep a Nirjala fast throughout the day. On this day, Ganeshji is offered laddus made of sesame and jaggery. So prepare sesame-jaggery laddus and other prasad. Start worshipping Ganeshji in the evening. Spread a red cloth on a small stool. Install the idol of Ganeshji on it. Perform the Abhishek of Ganeshji and offer him yellow clothes.

After this, collect all the worship materials including red flowers, roli, mauli, turmeric, durva, sandalwood, incense and lamps on the idol of Ganeshji. Apply vermilion tilak to Ganeshji. Offer sesame-jaggery laddus and other things to Ganeshji. Chant Ganeshji’s mantra ‘Om Gan Ganpataye Namah’. Recite Ganesh Chalisa. Recite the story of Shri Ganesh Tilkuta Chauth.
